INSPIRATION: The Art of Lap Pun Cheung, Concept Artist & Illustrator

I first saw the art of Lap Pun Cheung, a UK born concept artist, on one Kotaku’s Fine Art posts about a year ago, and he continues to create awe inspiring work. If you just want to go ahead and explore his work, jump right along to his Art Station page or his Deviant Art gallery. The work I’ve picked out below is just a very, very small sample of what he’s is capable of!

As a huge Studio Ghibli fan it was his concept work for a game called The Departed that first caught my eye, with paintings that could have been plucked straight from a Miyazaki film…

Star Wars vs Studio Ghibli

A couple of his more recent pieces take the Ghibli inspiration one step further, this time re-imagining scenes from the Star Wars universe. If there was anything I could do to make this movie a reality, I’d be all over it…
